Conscientious Butchering:
Our specialty. We'll work alone or alongside you, providing instruction as we go. Save your four legged friends a frightening, stressful and costly trip to the slaughterhouse... and empower yourself with the skills and confidence to do this on your own in the future! Many of our clients have let us know they successfully slaughtered and butchered their own critters, on their own, the next year!
We're happy to work with pigs, sheep, goats, deer, llamas, cows, and birds.
Butchering services and instruction include any or all of
* Slaughter (killing)
* Dressing & Quartering (skinning & cutting into large pieces)
* Finished cuts & packaging (making steaks, stew, grinding, etc... and wrapping)
* Preservation such as traditional jerky, sausage and bacon and ham curing, and smoking!

Cob Oven Building:
Bake in your back yard with traditional ovens made from local clay! From design to finish, we are happy to lend our hands to building clay ovens for local folks. If you'd like to learn, you're more than welcome. We can work together to arrange a work party to offset building costs.

From simple garden design, help with bed preparation, planting, weeding and harvesting... to larger projects of landscape & permaculture design - planting fruit and nut trees, perennial vegetables, medicinal and fiber plants, small earthwork projects like swales and ponds... to light construction - trellises, short fences, or even helping you engage with the land you live on more completely - by teaching you how to identify, harvest and and prepare wild edible plants and medicines from your neighborhood, wherever that may be. If we can't help you with your project, we can point you in the direction of those who can.
